Driver killed in fiery crash on U.S. 95 in Nevada

The driver was killed after a one-vehicle crash caused a fire on U.S. 95 on Tuesday afternoon, according to a release from the Nevada Department of Public Safety.

Responders at the scene reported that around 3:15 p.m., a Chevy Tahoe traveling southbound on U.S. 95 near Mile Marker 126 began traveling off the left dirt shoulder. The driver then overcorrected, veering across two lanes. The vehicle then swerved back toward the center median, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times, according to DPS.

The SUV came to rest in the center dirt median and became fully engulfed in flames with the driver still inside, the release stated.

State patrol officers have shut down the far-left lane in both directions.
