Police: Las Vegas woman pronounced dead after single-vehicle crash

A woman was pronounced dead today after the SUV she was driving ran off a road into a block wall, according to Metro Police.

The crash happened about 3:30 a.m. today on Hualapai Way, south of Charleston Boulevard, police said. The SUV was headed north when it failed to negotiate a curve and hit the wall, police said.

The driver, a 35-year-old Las Vegas woman, was taken to University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The death is not being listed as a traffic fatality, pending the outcome of an investigation by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.

Metro’s investigation is also continuing, officials said.
