Las Vegas Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski announced today he is retiring after 51 years of service with three departments, including 26 years in Las Vegas.

His last day as public education and information officer will be Aug. 18, though he is already turning over some of this duties, such as posting alerts to the fire department’s social media accounts, he said.

He will recognize his retirement on his anniversary date of Aug. 12, he said. Besides Las Vegas, Szymanski has served in Cleveland and Atlanta.
