Police: Shooting in southwest valley prompts school lockdowns

Metro Police say they are investigating a shooting in the southwest valley, prompting a lockdown of nearby schools.

The shooting was reported about 2:10 p.m. in the 6400 block of Nimbus Avenue, near Torey Pines Drive and Robindale Road, police said.

Nearby schools were asked to lock down, police said. The nearest schools are Canarelli Middle and Tony Alamo Elementary.

No additional details were immediately released.
