Police: Las Vegas boy riding bike critically injured in collision

A 15-year-old boy riding a bicycle was critically injured today in a crash with an SUV in the west valley, according to Metro Police.

The collision was reported about 5:40 a.m. at Cimarron Road and Rochelle Avenue, police said.

The SUV was headed south on Cimarron when the boy, who was headed east on Rochelle, entered the path of the vehicle, police said.

The Las Vegas boy was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the SUV, a 52-year-old Las Vegas woman, remained at the scene and did not display any signs of impairment, police said. She was not injured, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
