Las Vegas motorcyclist critically injured in crash

A motorcyclist was critically injured Sunday when he collided with a car making a left turn west of the Las Vegas Strip, according to Metro Police.

The crash happened about 2:45 p.m. on South Jones Boulevard at Churchfield Boulevard, police said.

The car was at a stop sign on eastbound Churchfield as the motorcycle was headed south on Jones, police said.

The crash occurred when the car crossed into the path of the motorcycle while attempting to make a left turn, police said.

The motorcyclist, a 44-year-old Las Vegas man, was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the car, a 38-year-old Las Vegas woman, was not hurt, police said. She remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
