Woman in critical condition after vehicle hits 5 others in Las Vegas

A 73-year-old woman was in critical condition after a severe traffic collision involving six vehicles Friday afternoon west of the Las Vegas Strip, according to a Metro Police news release.

Reports indicate that at around 4:30 p.m., Vicki Polzin, 73, of Las Vegas was driving a Chevrolet 1500 pickup north on South Decatur Boulevard when the vehicle failed to stop for a red traffic signal north of Dover Place.

The truck collided with five stopped vehicles before coming to rest, the release stated.

Arriving medical personnel only transported the pickup’s driver to University Medical Center’s Trauma unit, where she remained in critical condition.

No injuries were reported for occupants of the other vehicles involved in the crash.
