Las Vegas police: Pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle

A 55-year-old man died after being hit by a vehicle early Saturday morning, according to Metro Police.

The incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on North Nellis Boulevard south of the intersection with North Las Vegas Boulevard, police said.

Evidence and video footage showed a 2020 Toyota RAV4 was traveling south of Nellis as the unidentified victim was crossing Nellis outside a crosswalk, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased, police said.

Neither of the two occupants in the Toyota claimed or reported suffering injuries in the crash and impairment is not thought to be a contributing factor in the collision, police said.
