Today at the Editor & Publisher/Mediaweek EPpy Awards, the Las Vegas Sun was named Best Overall Newspaper-Affiliated Web site for newspapers under 1 million unique monthly visitors.
The New York Times won the best newspaper Web site for those papers over 1 million unique monthly visitors.
Other news organizations winning EPpy Awards included CNN, CBS News and USA Today. The ceremony was held today at a luncheon at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Contest officials said more than 460 different media Web sites from across the world were entered in this year's contest.
The Sun launched its new Web site on Jan. 10.
