Local sports books wasted no time bulking up their betting boards after today’s Nevada Gaming Commission hearing.
Following the commission’s approval to take action on the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, proposition wagers surfaced almost immediately. William Hill sports books posted eight betting options, many of which reflected well on Americans’ chances next summer.
The USA, most notably, is favored to beat China by 6.5 gold medals. In each of the last three summer Olympics, USA and China have finished at the top of the medal count.
At the 2012 game in London, America collected 46 gold medals to China’s 38. But no bettors profited or lost legally, which is soon to change.
