Fans in court side seats reach out their hands to congratulate Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James after he drew a foul against the Denver Nuggets in the second half of an NBA basketball game Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, in Denver. Cleveland won 93-87.

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have re-started with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

Atlanta Hawks plus-7.5 at Cleveland Cavaliers: $1,100 to win $1,000

Call me stubborn or a glutton for punishment, and I’d deserve it. But it’s also not going to change anything. I’m poking the LeBron James beast again.

After failing with a max-bet on Atlanta in game 1, I’m running it back in game 2 — and for mostly the same reasons. The Hawks are capable of frustrating the Cavaliers with the way they play defense.

Cleveland’s defense is not at the same level. Atlanta isn’t going to shoot below 38 percent for a second consecutive game. Atlanta’s starters went 19-for-56 from the field in game 1, and it still almost covered.

The Hawks erased an 18-point deficit before crumbling in the final minutes. Prepare to see Jeff Teague drives, Al Horford jumpers and Kyle Korver threes all pay off tonight.

Current Standings (as of July 1): Brewer (46-37-2, $12,005), Keefer (45-55-2, $6,990), Bern (30-38, $5,575)

Lifetime standings: 2014-15 Champion Bern (109-112-1), Keefer (128-137-4), Brewer (115-124-4)
