Improving Clark girls win second straight in soccer

After getting its first taste of winning in two seasons, the Clark High girls' soccer team went back for a second helping Thursday.

The Chargers made it 2-0 in 1997 with a 4-1 victory over Rancho at Cashman Middle School.

Lynsey Coffman and A.J. Acosta scored two goals each for Clark while goaltender Adina Eggen stopped 15 shots.

Elsewhere on the soccer field, Shannon Malmstedt scored twice to pace Bonanza to a 3-0 win at Boulder City, Ysa Sanchez found the net twice as Cimarron-Memorial trimmed host Las Vegas 3-1, Crystal Chadwick and Shoshana Erickson scored two goals apiece in host Basic's 8-0 rout of Western, Nikki Sears and Shannon Enright scored for Cheyenne in a 2-1 win at Silverado, Cozette Joffs scored twice and Rachel Mohler posted a shutout in goal as host Green Valley blanked Durango 5-0 and Bishop Gorman beat Valley 3-0 on goals by Lora Crammer, Sherese Nelson and Genevieve Carzoo.
