Police: Man hit by motorcycle, critically injured while crossing Las Vegas street

A pedestrian was hit by a motorcycle and critically injured Wednesday night while crossing a street outside of a marked crosswalk, according to Metro Police.

The incident was reported about 9:45 p.m. on Sahara Avenue, east of Las Vegas Boulevard, police said.

The motorcycle was headed east on Sahara when the pedestrian failed to yield the right of way and was struck, police said.

The pedestrian, an unidentified man who appeared to be in his 70s, was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The motorcyclist, a 43-year-old Las Vegas man, was not injured, police said. He remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment, police said.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
