Metro Police will be on the lookout for impaired drivers and traffic violations Monday evening south of the downtown area, authorities said.
Nine officers will conduct the increased enforcement from 7:30 p.m. Monday to midnight in the area of Maryland Parkway and Sahara Avenue. Officers will be focused on DUI, red light violators, right-of-way violations and pedestrian violations.
The enforcement is part of the department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program.
The increased enforcement is conducted in areas with a high amount of crashes, police said.
