Second man identified in double fatal I-15 crash

A driver who died after crashing into a pickup truck last week has been identified as 25-year-old Shane Anthony Hatter of Henderson, the Clark County coroner's office said today.

The coroner's office said Hatter died of multiple injuries from the crash on Interstate 15 near Silverado Ranch Boulevard, which shut down Interstate 15 for hours.

Alley Hassen, 76, of Canada also died from multiple injuries in the crash.

The two men were killed in a head-on crash that happened about 3:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The highway patrol's preliminary investigation showed Hatter's white 1997 Infinity sedan was traveling northbound in the southbound left travel lane. The Infinity struck the 2002 Ford pickup truck head-on. The truck was traveling southbound in the same lane, Trooper Kevin Honea said.

The crash engulfed both vehicles in flames, Honea said.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical crews, Honea said.

The crash is still under investigation.
