The Saturday funeral procession for a slain Nye County sheriff's deputy will travel north out of Pahrump through rural Nevada before entering northwest Las Vegas for memorial services.

The 95-mile procession will begin at about 7 a.m. Saturday at Pahrump Valley Mortuary, 5441 Vickie Ann Road. The procession will travel northbound along State Road 160 through Pahrump, then turn right at U.S. 95 to travel eastbound, eventually entering the northwest Las Vegas Valley.

The procession will exit at Craig Road and proceed to Jones Boulevard. Services for Ian Deutch, 27, will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Canyon Ridge Church, 6200 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Deutch was fatally wounded Monday at the Terrible’s Lakeside Casino and RV in Pahrump by 30-year-old James Lacy Chaffin. Deutch underwent emergency surgery at University Medical Center but died later that night.

Chaffin was shot to death by another deputy.

A candlelight vigil is planned for 7:30 p.m. tonight at the Terrible’s Lakeside Casino in Pahrump. Pahrump Family Mortuary will have a public viewing from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.

Gov. Jim Gibbons has ordered state flags to be lowered to half-staff Saturday during Deutch's funeral services.
