The owner of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf shops in the Las Vegas area on Wednesday announced it has acquired seven local Jamba Juice stores.

The announcement was made by Fine Concepts LLC and its CEO Jeffrey Fine, who said the deal includes a commitment to expand the Jamba Juice brand by developing eight more stores in the Las Vegas market.

"We are excited to officially be a part of the Jamba Juice family," said Fine. "Jamba Juice complements our portfolio of retail concepts and we are looking forward to extending our commitment to customers of providing excellent quality, healthy products and premier customer service. We take pride in being able to offer a healthy option for locals and visitors who come to our city and have plans to expand those options by opening our first Jamba Juice location on the Las Vegas Strip this fall."

Fine Concepts said it would expand ownership of the Jamba brand into non-traditional venues, such as the Fashion Show Mall on the Las Vegas Strip and in casinos,

Fine said he appointed Philip Patent as chief operating officer of Jamba Juice in the valley. Patent already directs operations for the 15 The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations in the valley and will manage the expansion plans for both entities.

"We’ve been looking for a brand leader within this segment to compliment our other enterprises and we are excited that Jamba Juice was refranchising this particular market," Patent said. "We believe that this is a natural complement to what is a super premium brand in the coffee segment, but also it will allow us to target some larger footprints in more desirable locations that both concepts can fit into side-by-side."

Jeffrey Fine is part of the Greenspun family, owner of the Las Vegas Sun.
