The contract of UNLV baseball coach Buddy Gouldsmith won't be renewed after this season.
UNLV Athletics Director Jim Livengood announced today that Gouldsmith will stay on as the team's coach through the rest of the season. Livengood said a national search will begin immediately, but he wasn't commenting on the search until the end of the season.
Gouldsmith is finishing his seventh year as the team's coach. He is the sixth head baseball coach in UNLV history.
Gouldsmith was promoted on June 9, 2003, after serving as an assistant for two years. He has a career record of 200-211 (.487) entering today's game against Cal State Northridge.
