Location of crash
Two drivers were seriously injured Thursday when their cars collided at Jones Boulevard and Harmon Avenue as one vehicle tried to make a left turn, Metro Police said.
Police said a 2004 Hyundai Accent headed south on Jones about 3 p.m. had the green light and was attempting to make a left turn onto Harmon when it hit the left front of a northbound 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara.
Both vehicles sustained major damage and both drivers were transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries, police said.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as Lillian Jones, 87, of Las Vegas underwent surgery and was admitted to the hospital. The other driver was identified as Cheryl Iacuaniello, 55, of Las Vegas.
The crash is under investigation by Metro’s Accident Investigation Section.
