Friday night's concert by the Steve Miller Band at the M Resort in Henderson was canceled because of “extreme wind conditions,” the casino said.

The band had been set to perform at 9 p.m. at the casino’s Outdoor Entertainment Piazza.

A resort spokeswoman said about 3,000 people were expected at the show.

Tickets, which ranged in price from $39.95 to $85, will be refunded at the point of purchase, the casino said. Ticket-holders were instructed to call the outlet where they bought their tickets for hours of operation and additional information.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory. Gusts of 40 to 50 mph were predicted. Officials said crosswinds would be strong enough to make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, such as vans, trucks and buses.
