Metro Police on Monday released photos of a man wanted in connection with the robbery of a cab driver earlier this month.

Investigators today said the cab driver picked up the man at about 3:10 a.m. May 5 in the area of Sahara Avenue and Rancho Drive. The man asked to be driven to the area of Decatur Boulevard and Vegas Drive, police said.

About one mile into the transport, the man directed the driver to make a few turns, then stop. Police say the man then pulled a knife on the cab driver and demanded money. The man took the money and fled, police said.

The robber was described as black, about 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds with facial hair and a black cap.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Metro's Robbery Section at (702) 828-3591 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
