Coroner identifies teen killed in North Las Vegas shooting

The Clark County Coroner’s Office has identified a teenage boy who died Wednesday night in a North Las Vegas shooting.

Donald Troutman, 16, of North Las Vegas died at about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday from a gunshot to the buttocks, the coroner’s office said.

Police received a call about 6:40 p.m. of shots fired and a disturbance in the 5100 block of Cross Ranch Street, police spokesman Sgt. Tim Bedwell said. When officers arrived, they found Troutman with gunshot injuries, he said.

He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died, Bedwell said.

The shooting took place near North 5th Street and East Washburn Road, not far from Mojave High School.
