The Las Vegas 51s were defeated Saturday 11-7 at the Sacramento RiverCats, losing for the second straight day to open a four-game Pacific Coast League series.
The 51s scored three times in the top of the first inning on a two-run double from Wilmer Flores and a RBI single from Eric Campbell. However, Sacramento responded with seven runs in its half of the first inning to take the lead.
Las Vegas managed to tie the game with a pair of runs in each of the third and fourth innings, but Sacramento scored the final four runs to win. Campbell belted a RBI double in the third and Jamie Hoffmann plated the other 51s’ run with a single. In the fourth, Flores and Josh Satin had RBIs.
The third game of the series is Sunday. The 51s returns to Cashman Field Tuesday.
