A family of four and their pet dog were displaced from their home Thursday after fire destroyed most of the two-story residence.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue firefighters arrived about 3:40 p.m. to 7930 Twin Leaf St., near Grand Teton and Grand Canyon drives. Heavy flames showed from the home, with the fire appearing to start on the second floor, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski said.

The two adults and two children who lived there were not home at the time of the fire. Fire crews rescued the family’s small dog and extinguished the flames in about 10 minutes, Szymanski said.

No one was injured in the fire, which caused about $150,000 in damage and appeared to start in the master bedroom after an electrical issue, Szymanski said.
