Eldorado picked up its first victory of the season with a 16-12 victory over Sunrise Mountain.

“Man, it feels really good,” Eldorado coach Vernon Brown said. “We hope this one win can snowball into two. We know we’re up against it, but hopefully we can get three or four in the win column.”

Josh Brown ran for two touchdowns to lead the Sun Devils (1-2). Fareti Tavaivale had a big game on the defensive side of the ball, registering nine tackles.

Vernon Brown said after the team’s loss to Clark on Sept. 12 that some members of the team got together the next day to get in some extra practice.

“That shows the type of character these guys have,” Vernon Brown said. “The guys are committed to winning. They’ll keep working hard, and the chips fall where they may on Fridays.”
