A 53-year-old man was hit and critically injured early today while crossing a street outside of a crosswalk, according to Metro Police.
The incident happened about 4 a.m. on Sunset Road, just east of Pecos Road, police said.
Michael Hilson of Ontario, Canada, was hit after he crossed into the path of a compact sport utility vehicle headed east on Sunset, police said. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The driver, a 59-year-old Las Vegas man, remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment, police said.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
