Two Henderson Police officers conducting a traffic stop on the 215 Beltway near Valle Verde Drive late Thursday were injured when their unmarked vehicle was struck.

The officers had pulled over a driver around 9:30 p.m. and the three were outside their vehicles when another driver rear-ended the patrol car, causing it to hit the car in front, spokeswoman Michelle French said.

The officers, who sustained leg injuries, and the driver who had been pulled over were transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Both officers were released from the hospital Thursday night with minor injuries, police said.

The driver who hit the patrol car was taken to St. Rose Dominican Hospital's Siena campus in unknown condition.

All westbound lanes of the 215 Beltway were closed at the Valle Verde exit.
