Las Vegas man, 60, hit by car, killed crossing street

A 60-year-old Las Vegas man was hit by a car and killed early this morning while crossing Flamingo Road just west of Valley View Boulevard, according to Metro Police.

The man, who was in a crosswalk at Hugh Hefner Drive, was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name has not been released pending notification of family members, police said.

The incident, which happened about 4 a.m., remains under investigation, police said.

The driver, a 25-year-old Las Vegas man, remained at the scene and was not suspected of being impaired, police said.
