Bicyclist, 35, killed in collision with SUV

A 35-year-old bicyclist from Las Vegas was killed Monday night when he collided with an SUV at Decatur Boulevard and Westmoreland Drive, according to Metro Police.

The SUV was headed north on Decatur about 8:40 p.m. when it hit the cyclist, who was riding east across the street, police said. The cyclist, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Neither the driver of the SUV, a 77-year-old Las Vegas man, nor his passenger, a 79-year-old woman from Las Vegas, were injured, police said. The driver remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
