Person in critical condition after apartment fire

A person was in critical condition this morning after being pulled unconscious from a fire at an apartment building early today, according to the Clark County Fire Department. A second person also was taken to a hospital with smoke inhalation, officials said.

The fire was reported about 4:45 a.m. in the 5400 block of Harmon Boulevard, where smoke and flames were coming from the second floor of a two-story apartment building, officials said. Firefighters found one person unconscious inside an apartment, officials said.

Firefighters had the blaze largely out within about 10 minutes, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
