Ray Brewer and Case Keefer recap all the action from rivalry week, and spend extra time looking ahead to a few of the evenly-matched games in week 9.

Make it three in a row for Spring Valley.

The Grizzlies added another win to their streak Friday night in a defensive struggle at Desert Oasis, where they escaped with a 13-6 victory.

“It was ugly,” Spring Valley coach Marcus Teal said. “But we’d much rather win ugly than lose pretty.”

There was no score at halftime, but the Grizzlies were able to find the end zone twice in the third quarter. First, Marquelle Diggs returned a punt 50 yards for a touchdown. Then, Kash Jenkins scored on an 8-yard touchdown run off a turnover to put Spring Valley up 13-0.

Turnovers were the Grizzlies’ saving grace on a night when the offense wasn’t in top form. They had two fumble recoveries to go with a pair of interceptions, one by Jenkins and the other by Mitchell Otis.
