Durango has ridden one of the area’s best run games all regular season but may have finished off its schedule with perhaps its best performance on the ground yet.

Junior T.K. Fotu rushed for more than 200 yards and two touchdowns while junior Kaden Renshaw had around 100 yards and two touchdowns as part of a 35-14 victory over Spring Valley.

“Offensively, we played really well,” Durango coach Scott Murdock said. “We stalled a couple times and had some holding calls, but also had 400-plus yards of offense.”

The win meant the Trailblazers finished the regular season with a 6-3 record and third in the Southwest division. They’ll start the playoffs next week at Faith Lutheran.

Spring Valley fell to 5-4, and will be forced to travel to Northwest champion Arbor View next week.
