Las Vegas Weekly staff are among the finalists in the 2018 Association of Alternative Newsmedia annual competition. The finalists were chosen as the most outstanding from a field of nearly 700 entries submitted by 55 alternative publications across the U.S. and Canada.
Brock Radke is a finalist for Food Writing for his feature Soul Food in Vegas.
Geoff Carter is a finalist for Music Writing for his cover story Accidental Pop Star Shamir comes around again — This time on his own terms.
Elizabeth Brown, Corlene Byrd, Ian Racoma and Las Vegas Weekly creative staff are finalists for Cover Design (I; II; III).
Byrd is a double finalist for Editorial Layout with Electric Impact and The Pillars of Taco. This is her third consecutive year being a finalist in the design category.
Racoma is a finalist for best Illustration for Modern Love.
