A marijuana dispensary in the central valley closed its doors just one day before the one-year anniversary of recreational marijuana sales in Nevada after police say three thieves looted it.
Metro Police were called to Silver Sage Wellness, 4626 W. Charleston Blvd., just after 11:45 p.m. Friday night, according to police logs. Spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said three people were identified as suspects in the robbery, but none had been taken into custody as of Saturday night. No injuries were reported.
Calls to the dispensary throughout the day Saturday went unanswered. A voicemail recording Saturday morning said the dispensary was closed due to a “temporary inventory issue,” and hoped to reopen later in the day. A later voicemail recording said Silver Sage Wellness would reopen on Sunday morning. A security guard standing outside the dispensary Saturday afternoon confirmed the closure was due to “inventory restocking” did not offer comment further.
Silver Sage Wellness, which opened in March 2016, sells both recreational and medical marijuana. It’s open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
At least seven Las Vegas Valley dispensaries have been victims of robberies since the beginning of 2017.
