The Wall Gaming Lounge at the Rio offers players an immersive gaming experience.

The Rio is the latest Las Vegas resort to plug into the esports craze.

Marking Caesars Entertainment’s first foray into a permanent esports venue, the Wall Gaming Lounge offers players an immersive gaming experience.

The 24,000-square-foot project will be completed in phases, with the first phase now featuring multiple gaming and lounge spaces, including 30 high performance Alienware PCs.

Various console gaming stations are also available. The décor features graffiti artwork inspired by the latest popular video games.

Upcoming phases are expected to introduce more food and beverage offerings, including a large craft beer list, and an expanded footprint with virtual reality and popular bar games. There is no timetable for the future additions.

“The Wall at the Rio is designed to be highly interactive and enables our guests to enter the space and feel immersed in a highly visual and dynamic gaming atmosphere,” said Christian Stuart, executive vice president of gaming and interactive entertainment for Caesars Entertainment, which owns the Rio. “You can compete like an esports professional or spectate in a social, ultramodern atmosphere.”

Focusing on tournaments and daily challenges, gamers can compete with fellow players not just for pride, but for cash and prizes as well. Hourly and daily challenge prizes include custom, collectible patches and merchandise prizes from celebrated games.

The Wall features a self-serve beverage wall with espresso, coffee, sports drinks, energy drinks, hibiscus tea and kombucha on tap. Mobile food and drink ordering is also available, adding convenience to the experience.

Rio joins the Luxor, MGM Grand, the Downtown Grand and Millennial Esports Arena downtown as dedicated esports facilities in Las Vegas.

The Wall is located in the Masquerade Village area of the Rio and is open Thursday-Sunday, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Free self-parking is available.
