A motorist was jailed Tuesday night and his car impounded after a radar gun caught it going nearly 150 mph on Interstate 15 near Jean, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The trooper was patrolling a “no tolerance zone” about 30 miles south of Las Vegas when the northbound car buzzed by, officials said. The radar clocked the speed at 147 mph.
“Those speeds don’t get citations,” NHP wrote on Twitter, noting the arrest. “Slow down, Vegas isn’t going anywhere.”
NHP could not immediately be reached for comment.
