Vegas Golden Podcast preached temperance as it pertained to the Golden Knights’ performance all season.

They stressed not getting too low about Vegas’ chances when it struggled midseason, ultimately leading to the firing of coach Gerard Gallant, or too high after a surge under replacement Peter DeBoer. The Golden Knights’ Western Conference quarterfinal matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks, which gets under way at 7:30 p.m. tonight from the NHL bubble in Edmonton, has hosts Justin Emerson and Case Keefer breaking their own rules.

Neither Emerson nor Keefer can conceive much of a way Chicago upsets Vegas in the teams’ best-of-seven series. The pairing looks heavily tilted in Vegas’ favor, a substantial award for the Golden Knights winning the qualifying round-robin by sweeping Dallas, St. Louis and Colorado.

On a recent Zoom call, they break the series down and move onto why it’s not all good news as some challenges could await the Golden Knights even if they get past the Blackhawks as easily as expected. They also touch on all the other Western Conference series in the round of 16.
