This year’s Las Vegas Days Rodeo, already rescheduled once because of the coronavirus pandemic, has been canceled, the city announced today.

The rodeo, originally set for May 6-9, was rescheduled for Oct. 8-10 at Core Arena at the Plaza in downtown Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Days — formerly Helldorado Days — is an annual cowboy-themed event celebrating the city’s Wild West history. Helldorado was created in 1935.

An annual parade that was set for May 9 was also canceled.

The rodeo, which would have paid out $45,000 in prizes, features events such as bull riding, barely racing, saddle bronc riding and bareback riding.
