Fire at Las Vegas house spreads to home next door

Firefighters responded to a blaze today at a two-story house that spread to the house next door, according to Las Vegas Fire & Rescue officials.

The fire was reported about 3:40 p.m. in the 2200 block of St. Louis Avenue, just west of Atlantic Street, officials said.

Heavy flames were coming through the roof of the house where the blaze started, officials said. No injuries were reported.

Earlier in the day, Las Vegas and Clark County firefighters responded about 9:50 a.m. to another fire at a house in the 3800 block of Olive Street, near U.S. 95 and Charleston Boulevard.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters saw smoke coming from the attic and forced their way into the home, but had to pull out and fight the blaze from the outside because of concerns the roof could collapse, officials said.

No damage estimate was available, and the cause of the fire was under investigation, officials said.
