UNLV Rebels forward Edoardo Del Cadia (10) prepares to take a shot during a game against the Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.) Redhawks at the Thomas & Mack Center Thursday Jan. 21, 2021.

Another day, another UNLV basketball player in the transfer portal.

Junior forward Edoardo Del Cadia entered the portal on Thursday, joining teammates Donavan Yap, Isaac Lindsey and Jhaylon Martinez, who announced their intention to transfer on Wednesday.

Del Cadia came to UNLV off a strong junior college season in which he averaged 13.8 points and 9.1 rebounds, and he was expected to compete for a starting job in the frontcourt. Instead he got off to a slow start and never managed to gain traction in the rotation, appearing in 21 games and logging just 208 total minutes.

Del Cadia scored 2.8 points per game and grabbed 3.0 rebounds while shooting 55.3 percent from the field.

With Del Cadia, Yap, Lindsey and Martinez all in the transfer portal, it is clear that this is going to be an offseason of major roster turnover. More players could choose to leave the program, and it remains to be seen if incoming signees Arthur Kaluma and Keshon Gilbert ever make it to campus, so new UNLV coach Kevin Kruger will have his hands full on the recruiting trail.

Kruger has reportedly reached out to several players in the portal, including North Dakota point guard Tyree Ihenacho.
