An Ohio man was killed on Thanksgiving after he crashed into a landscaping boulder in Laughlin and was thrown from a convertible car, according to Metro Police.
The crash happened about 11:20 p.m. Thursday at South Casino Drive and Thomas Edison Drive, police said.
A Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible was headed south on Casino Drive when it ran a red light at the intersection, went onto the raised center median and hit the boulder, police said.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The name of the driver, a 53-year-old Circleville, Ohio, man, was not released, pending notification of his family, police said.
The crash remains under investigation, police said. It resulted in the 130th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
