2 suspects arrested in connection to March 25 homicide in Las Vegas

Two suspects were detained Monday as part of an investigation into a woman’s shooting death in southwest Las Vegas, according to a release by Metro Police.

Christine Schultz, 21, and Michael Overton, 31, were identified as suspects in connection to the homicide. On Monday, they were taken into custody by the FBI’s Jacksonville, Fla. field office. The two will be extradited to Las Vegas to face charges, the release stated.

Kamari Oliver, 18, was previously arrested March 28 and booked into Clark County Detention Center on one count of open murder, robbery with a deadly weapon, kidnapping and home invasion with a deadly weapon in connection to the incident.

On March 25, Metro Police reported a robbery and homicide at a residence in the 6400 block of Bright Nimbus Avenue. The release states that three men with handguns had entered the residence, where the victim was, and attempted to rob the inhabitants. The woman and the suspects exchanged gunfire, which resulted in the victim’s death before the suspects fled after an altercation with another man. The woman was declared dead on the scene by responders.

The investigation indicates the incident was a targeted robbery, according to the release.

The name of the victim and the cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
