Police: Man arrested in fatal stabbing of mother at Las Vegas apartment

A man has been arrested in the fatal stabbing of his mother after a reported dispute at a Las Vegas apartment, according to Metro Police.

The incident was reported about 11:10 a.m. Wednesday in the 2900 block of Juniper Hills Boulevard, near Nellis Boulevard and Vegas Valley Drive, police said.

Pablo Bonilla, 34, was arrested on a count of open murder in the slaying of his mother, who was found with multiple stab wounds, police said.

The woman, whose name was not immediately released, was declared dead at the scene, police said.

Another family member called Metro and reported the mother and son were in a dispute and that Bonilla, who was armed with a knife, had threatened to kill the woman if she left the apartment, police said.

Officers surrounded the apartment and tried to communicate with Bonilla and his mother, police said.

Bonilla came out of the apartment and surrendered before SWAT team members and crisis negotiators arrived, police said.
