One person burned after natural gas explosion at home in Cold Creek

One person suffered burns in a natural gas explosion and fire at a home in the Cold Creek community northwest of Las Vegas, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The incident was reported about 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of Raven Oaks Drive, officials said.

A gas leak exploded while being repaired at a single-family home under renovation, officials said. Firefighters reported flames coming through the roof, officials said.

Three people were staying at the home, and one of them suffered burn injuries, officials said. They drove themselves to University Medical Center for treatment, officials said.

Cold Creek is located in the Spring Mountains, just south of Indian Springs. The fire did not spread into the surrounding forest, officials said.
