Suspect ID’d in Jan. death of woman found in burning building in Las Vegas

Jesus Gonzalez, 42, has been charged with murder in the death of a woman found inside a burning apartment building, according to Metro Police.

A man has been charged in relation to the January death of a woman found inside a burning apartment, according to a Metro Police news release.

Jesus Gonzalez, 42, has been identified as a suspect in the case, the release stated.

He was re-booked Friday at Clark County Detention Center on a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon, as he was already in custody on several other charges.

The Las Vegas Fire Department was initially responding to the report of a fire in the 3800 block of East Charleston Boulevard the afternoon of Jan. 9, when firefighters found the woman inside suffering from apparent stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gonzalez is also facing two other charges of open murder with a deadly weapon in two separate cases.
