Man killed in collision with light pole, large rocks in Las Vegas

A driver was killed today on the west side of Las Vegas after the vehicle he was driving collided with several objects off the road, including a light pole, according to a Metro Police news release.

At about 4:30 p.m., a 59-year-old man was driving a 2003 Honda CR-V north on South Buffalo Drive south of Alta Drive.

The vehicle left the roadway to the right for unknown reasons, the report stated, striking the curb, a light pole and several large landscaping rocks.

The Honda overturned, ejecting its driver, police stated.

Medical personnel arriving at the scene determined the driver was beyond resuscitation and pronounced him dead.

The collision remains under investigation.
