North Las Vegas man, 26, killed in crash with garbage truck

A 26-year-old North Las Vegas man was killed this morning in a crash with a garbage truck, according to Metro Police.

The crash happened about 5:45 a.m. on North Rainbow Boulevard, north of Smoke Ranch Road, police said.

A car was headed south on Rainbow as the Republic Services garbage truck was making a left turn onto the road, police said. The car hit the right side of the garbage truck, police said.

Medics at the scene determined the driver of the car was beyond resuscitation, police said.

The driver of the garbage truck, a 53-year-old Las Vegas man, was not injured, police said.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
