A bicyclist was killed after being hit by a bus this afternoon in Las Vegas, according to a Metro Police news release.
At about 3 p.m. at the intersection of East Tropicana Boulevard and South Nellis Boulevard, the cyclist was attempting to cross Tropicana, when the bus entered the intersection on a red light, colliding with the bicycle, the release stated.
The 33-year-old man was taken to Sunrise Hospital Trauma Center, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The bus driver, a 46-year-old woman, showed signs of impairment and was arrested on DUI and traffic-related charges, according to the release.
