Firefighters working to put out blaze at occupied abandoned building in Las Vegas

Fire crews are working to put out a blaze at an abandoned building a few blocks east of the Strip with reports of people inside this evening, according to a Clark County news release.

Firefighters at the scene at 1111 Sierra Vista Drive are still working to put out the fire, the release stated.

Dispatch received multiple calls for a fire in an abandoned two-story commercial building at about 7 p.m. Responders placed a ladder to remove people from the building.

The fire was observed to be going through the roof, which eventually collapsed into the structure.
