Las Vegas police: Woman hit by car, killed while trying to move disabled vehicle

A woman trying to move a disabled car was hit and killed by a vehicle driven by a man subsequently arrested on DUI-related counts, according to Metro Police.

The incident was reported about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday on Ann Road at Tropic Mist Street, police said.

The disabled vehicle was in the westbound lanes, when another car hit it from behind and then hit the woman, police said. The car then drove over the woman, police said.

The 58-year-old Henderson woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her name was not released pending notification of her family, police said.

The driver of the other car, a 29-year-old North Las Vegas man, suffered minor injuries, police said. He was arrested after he showed signs of impairment and failed standardized field sobriety tests, police said.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
